The Cuba is a Fearsome Critter told by the lumberjacks of the new America being built in the 18th and 19th centuries. It lived in Connecticut. The Cuba was responsible for much of the strange noises heard in the forests. It was a mammal with four long and sharp teeth and was the size of a large cat. The male is known to be very aggressive and will defend its family to the death. The female is very passive and relies on the male spouse for defense. If she sees danger and thinks the danger is too great for her spouse, she will run to him and scream in his ear until the male agrees with his spouse and both flee to their caves. At other times the female is also known to calm the male down by kissing him around the neck if she thinks the male is too aggressive for no reason. The Cuba was documented by Samuel Peters in The General History of Conneticut in 1782.
